The Larsen Museum recognizes areas for support, committees and task forces to advance its mission. The Legacy Society, Leadership Team and Program Council are recognized areas for support. Committees and task forces are utilized for governance, fundraising, communications and membership.

Leadership Team

Engage and inspire participation in advancing the mission of the museum
Develop and revise mission statement, vision statement, annual goals and strategic plan
Explore facility improvements and obtain non-exhibit display space

Governance

Fulfill governing responsibilities
Ensure charter and bylaw provisions are current and followed
Determine the mission of the museum
Set policies for museum operations
Establish financial controls and budgets


Fundraising

Develop strategies for fundraising at local, regional & national scales

Membership

Communications

Continue improvement to internal communications such as the newsletter
Assess museum web site effectiveness
Conceptualize a larger campaign (print media, advertising, news features) to increase public awareness of museum content and museum location

Spearhead conception, planning, and organization of Open House Event
Assess / prioritize state events, assist coordination of museum effort

Collections

Continue cataloging and documenting content of current collections
Generate a curatorial mission and identify strategic acquisitions to improve pursuit of mission statement
Improve language and accuracy of artifact descriptions


Doug Koozer, Fleet Manager
Provide oversight and strategies for growth for UNL Restoration Club
Maintain existing tractor collection
Assess current maintenance practices and generate guidelines for future maintenance to insure preservation of collection for long-term curatorial use.
